Problem
Currently Britons throw away £2.2 billion of homeware each year. This equates to roughly 70 million homeware items, averaging 12 items per person. Furniture is currently one of the least recycled products globally, so most of this waste ends up in landfill.
Solution
By buying second-hand, customers give a longer life to existing items and keep them from landfill, as well as reducing resources used in manufacturing and shipping. Haule is creating a circular economy to reduce waste and fight 'fast furniture'.
Business Model
Haule operates an online marketplace that charges a 10% commission to sellers on the sale price of items. We have recently launched a sourcing service, helping customers source specific items from our community of sellers. For this we charge a 20% commission on sale price.
Traction
Haule launched in August 2021, since then we have been featured in numerous press including Vogue, GQ, Evening Standard and more. We are current make monthly Gross Merchandise Sales of circa £1,000. 28% of our customer are returning and we have doubled the number of sellers using our platform.
Looking For
We are currently looking for £300,000 investment with SEIS.
